News and PR
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest online match funding campaign, raising millions of pounds for charities every year. The campaign provides the chance for people to effectively double their donations to the charities they care about the most.
Our sustainability appeal aims to raise money for our range of unique, industry-led programmes, designed to introduce young people in our area to the world of work. For some, it may be the first time they will have met someone who is in employment, opening their eyes to the number of thriving industries and sectors in the Tees Valley and North East. Ultimately, we want to open young people’s eyes to the opportunities available on their doorstep, improving learning and employment opportunities whilst raising aspiration levels in the process.
In the past five years we have supported over 5800 young people and organised more than 270 different activities and opportunities. Not counting 2017 placements, we have organised 350 weeks of work experience alone. That equates to 14,000 hours in work placements! None of this would be possible without the support and commitment of our industry members and partners, who kindly donate their time and money to support our cause. And it’s thanks to these organisations and individuals that we can continue our work in the Tees Valley. No matter how big or small, every donation is vital to the future of High Tide.
The Christmas Challenge 2017 goes live at midday on #GivingTuesday 28th November and runs until midday on Tuesday 5th December. It’s only during this time period that donations will be matched, with a chance to raise up to £10,000 to support our programmes.
