An Afternoon of Tea, Sandwiches, Cakes and Fundraising!
Last week saw members of the High Tide community come together for an afternoon of tea, tasty mocktails, delicious sandwiches, decadent cakes and worthy fundraising.
Events
The event began celebrations to mark the Charity’s fifth year of operation and included a demonstration by professional makeup artist Heather Francessca and a performance from world renowned saxophonist, Louise Evans. Taking place in the idyllic setting of the Rockliffe Suite at Rockliffe Hall, the event began with an introduction from host Julie Donaldson, before PD Ports PR and Communications Manager Kirsten Donkin, discussed High Tide’s ongoing activities, impact over the past five years and why PD Ports continues to be involved with the charity.
Since the foundation was established in 2012, we have worked with over 5800 young people from Teesside and spent more than 16,000 hours raising aspirations, showcasing career opportunities and providing unique learning opportunities for young people in the Tees Valley.
Such industry members are crucial to helping us deliver our variety of programmes and allow us to genuinely impact on the lives of students and young people in our region. Originating from industries as diverse as automotive, creative, hospitality and shipping, these businesses together with our education members play a vital role in bridging skill gaps and shaping the workforce of the future.
The event included a fundraising raffle, helping to raise nearly £1,500 towards ensuring we can continue delivering our range of industry-led programmes. The afternoon also provided an excellent opportunity to network with North East businesses from a wide range of sectors, in an informal and relaxed setting.
A big thank you to all who attended and continue to support High Tide in any way they can! Your support really does make a difference to the lives of young people across the Tees Valley.
